Tongue Tie Services
Holistic support and assessment for tongue function and feeding

Thoughtful Care, Evidence-Based Practice
As a qualified Tongue Tie Practitioner working under The Natal Network, I now offer a full tongue tie service — including in-depth assessments and frenectomy (tongue tie release) procedures. Rooted in my work as an IBCLC and paediatric nurse, this service builds on years of supporting families through feeding challenges with compassion and clinical insight.
Two Appointments for Complete Care
The process takes place across two visits:
-
Visit One: a detailed assessment of your baby’s tongue function and appearance using the Hazelbaker ATLFF tool, alongside observation of feeding and discussion of your goals. We’ll explore positioning, latch strategies, and signs of muscular tension, which babies often hold in their tongue, jaw, neck, or shoulders — affecting their ability to feed comfortably.
-
Visit Two: we review progress and reassess tongue function. If a release is indicated and baby is ready, the frenectomy will be carried out at this appointment.

More Than a Simple Release
Supporting tongue function isn’t just about releasing a frenulum. Many babies benefit from pre- and post-release bodywork, gentle exercises, and support with feeding techniques like laid-back breastfeeding or the “flipple” latch. I’ll guide you through these approaches, and can recommend trusted local osteopaths and bodyworkers if needed.

Ongoing Support, Personalised to You
I offer full aftercare guidance, ongoing feeding support, and follow-up options tailored to your baby’s healing and development. Every step is designed to help you move closer to your feeding goals with confidence and reassurance.
